Partner Linking
How does partner linking work?
One person generates a unique invite code inside the Nidoro app (Settings → Partner). The other person enters that code on their device to link the two accounts. Once linked, your transaction entries, budgets, and goals sync in real time between both accounts.
How do I invite my partner?
Open Nidoro, go to Settings, and tap 'Link Partner'. You'll see a 6-character invite code. Share that code with your partner — they enter it in their app under Settings → 'Enter Partner Code'. The link is established instantly.
What if my partner doesn't accept the invite?
Invite codes expire after 24 hours. If your partner doesn't link in time, simply generate a new code. Make sure they're using the latest version of the app, as older versions may not support partner linking.
What happens to our data if we unlink?
When you unlink, both accounts stop syncing immediately. Each account retains its own copy of the data that existed up to the point of unlinking — nothing is deleted automatically. If you'd like your data deleted, you can submit a request at nidoro.co/delete-my-data.
Can we re-link after unlinking?
Yes. After unlinking, either partner can generate a new invite code to re-establish the connection. Historical data from before the unlink will not be automatically re-merged, but new entries will sync going forward.
Can I use Nidoro solo without a partner?
Absolutely. Nidoro works fully as a solo budgeting app. All features — expense tracking, budget goals, money dates — are available whether or not you have a linked partner. You can link a partner at any time.
Account & Data
How do I create an account?
Download Nidoro from the App Store, open the app, and sign up with your email address. You'll receive a confirmation email — tap the link to verify your account and you're in.
What data does Nidoro store about me?
We store your email address, display name, the transaction entries and budget data you manually enter, your partner link status, and your subscription status. We never connect to your bank — all data is entered by you. See our Privacy Policy for the full list.
How do I delete my account and data?
You can submit a deletion request at nidoro.co/delete-my-data. We'll permanently delete your account and all associated data within 30 days and send a confirmation email. Alternatively, email hello@nidoro.co with 'Data Deletion Request' in the subject.
Can I export my data before deleting?
Data export is on our roadmap. If you need your data before deletion, email hello@nidoro.co and we'll prepare a CSV export of your transactions and budget history manually.
I forgot my password — how do I reset it?
On the login screen, tap 'Forgot password'. Enter your email address and we'll send a reset link. The link is valid for 1 hour. Check your spam folder if you don't see it within a few minutes.
Billing & Subscription
What's included in the free plan?
The free plan includes manual transaction logging, basic budget categories, and partner linking with shared views. Premium unlocks advanced analytics, unlimited custom categories, budget goal tracking, and priority support.
How do I upgrade to Nidoro Premium?
Open Nidoro, go to Settings → Upgrade. You'll see subscription options with pricing. Tap your preferred plan — payment is processed securely through Apple's App Store. Your subscription activates immediately after purchase.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed through Apple. Go to your iPhone's Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Nidoro → Cancel Subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep Premium access until then.
Will my partner also get Premium when I subscribe?
Yes. When one partner has an active Nidoro Premium subscription, both linked accounts get access to Premium features. Only one subscription is needed per couple.
Can I get a refund?
Refund requests are handled by Apple, not us. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com or contact Apple Support directly. Apple evaluates refund requests case by case. We're unable to issue refunds outside of Apple's process.
I was charged after I thought I cancelled — what happened?
Subscriptions must be cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid the next charge. If you cancelled after this window, the charge went through before the cancellation processed. Contact Apple Support for assistance.
Privacy & Security
Is my financial data shared with my partner?
Yes — that's the core of Nidoro. Transactions, budgets, and goals you enter are visible to your linked partner. Your email address is never shared. If you'd prefer something to stay private, don't enter it in the app, or unlink your partner.
Does Nidoro sell my data?
Never. We do not sell your personal or financial data to any third party. We use analytics (PostHog) to understand how the app is used in aggregate — this is anonymized and never linked to your financial entries.
How is my data stored?
Your data is stored in Supabase, which runs on AWS infrastructure. We enforce row-level security so only you and your linked partner can access your records. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256).
How do I request a copy or deletion of my data?
Visit nidoro.co/delete-my-data to submit a deletion request. For a copy of your data, email hello@nidoro.co. We'll respond within 30 days per GDPR and CCPA requirements.
Does Nidoro access my bank accounts?
No. Nidoro is 100% manual. We have no integration with any bank, card, or financial institution. You enter your own transactions. This is by design — it keeps your sensitive financial credentials completely out of our system.
